The New Year continues with another busy day on Sky Sports Racing as both Lingfield and Southwell host nine-race cards.
1.15 Lingfield – Therapist & Crystal Mariner Mermaid

She was last seen finishing a brave third in the Winter Oaks Trial here last month after making the switch from the hurdles, where she was a two-time winner.
There seem to be a few dangers in the competitive field, namely Andrew Balding Hebridean Nomadwinner at Kempton in September 2023 before returning here last month after a long absence.
Crystal Mariner spent most of his career with Sir Michael Stoute and joined Jamie Osbourne following the great trainer's retirement. He showed some of his old form at Kempton when he was second behind the up-and-coming horse who is a track specialist.
1.45 Lingfield – Havana Sky go to the hexagon
Havana Sky has set up his stall for Horse of the Year at the All Weather Championships, winning his last five starts and finishing sixth in Win £1m with BetMGM Golden Goals Handicap (1.45).
He starts on the road for the first time since earlier days, but these easier seven furlongs should help him. His regular rider Hector Crouch leads the ride who is also looking for the all-weather champion Jockey.
Lord Rapscallion he comes here with a career low and showed signs of his old self last time out. A sharper trip will help him.
The Smiling Wolf is another who has lost form but lurks on the dangerous edge as she is 12lb off her win earlier in the season.
5.00 Southwell – Palmar Bay, Lattaash and So Quiet clash in action
The three final winners meet in Southwell at BetMGM Handicap Best Racing Odds Guaranteed (5.00).
Karl Burke trained Lattaash He finally got his head last time out at Wolverhampton when he lowered his sights in Novice company. The form of it is not strong, but it should give him the confidence that he lacked before.
Palmar Bay as Ralph Beckett has been anything but consistent with a string of good recent runs. Jack Doughty takes a valuable 3lb claim off his back which will help top weight.
So Quiet has caught the eye at Southwell over course and distance and is 1lb lower for that run. Harry Charlton's gelding could be dangerous if the race is run to size.
