Saurashtra wicketkeeper batsman Sheldon Jackson has called time on his white ball career in domestic cricket. As per reports, it has been learned that the right-hander has retired from white-ball cricket but will continue to play red-ball cricket for the team.
Sheldon Jackson has been an incredible servant for Saurashtra in domestic cricket and it is fair to say that he is one of the best wicketkeeper batsmen in Indian domestic cricket. Dreipta retired aged 38 on Friday (January 3).
Sheldon Jackson made his List A cricket debut against Baroda
Jackson made his List A cricket debut against Baroda at the Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara. And after that he turned into a legend for Saurashtra. He played 86 50-over games and scored 2792 runs at an average of 36.25, including 14 half-centuries and nine centuries.
Jackson was also wobbling with his gloves behind the stumps. He affected 51 dismissals in the format, which includes 42 catches and nine knocks. His absence from the team will undoubtedly leave a massive void in the team's lineup.
Sheldon Jackson has also been decent with the bat in T20 cricket. The 1812 batting goalkeeper is running in 80 matches. This also includes his runs during his stint with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League where he played nine matches.

Jackson's last match came during the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Punjab. The wicketkeeper-batsman did not have a great outing with the bat as he scored 13 runs off 10 balls. His best came during the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy final where he brought his best.
Jackson played a magnificent innings of 133 off 136 balls against Maharashtra and helped his team win the tournament. However, he will now be keen to give more than his best for the team in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.
He has been a stalwart for Saurashtra in the longer format of the game. Sheldon Jackson, who recently played his 100th first-class match, amassed 7187 runs in 103 matches at an average of 46.36. He also slammed 21 tons and 38 fifties.
