Hansi Flick has admitted he is “not happy” with Barcelona's failure to secure the signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but backed the club to find a positive solution soon.
The pair have been both removed from the La Liga site as their temporary registrations expired on 31 December, with Barcelona failing to raise the funds needed to re-register the pair before the deadline.
League rules state that a player cannot be re-registered after their initial deal expires, meaning Barcelona have been forced to appeal to the Spanish Football Federation and are also said to be preparing another appearance before a judge.
“I don't want to talk too much about it because it's not my job,” Flick told the media. “My task is to prepare for the match.
“I was in contact with the president at Christmas and today. I have the confidence of the club that they have done their job, just as I have done mine.
“To be honest, I am not satisfied with the situation. The players are also not satisfied, but we have to accept that we are professionals. I am optimistic, but we have to wait for the decision.”
Reports emerged on Friday suggesting Barcelona could sell centre-back Eric Garcia to Girona to help their push to sign Olmo and Victor, but Flick dismissed the idea of a move for the defender.
“I don't think he's going to leave, but I don't know what's going to happen,” Flick said. “For us, he is a good player.
“He's had some injuries, but he's a very intelligent player and a player we like a lot. We're not thinking about that.”
Like Flick, Olmos' agent has also backed Barcelona to resolve this situation soonwith club officials it is said sure to close registrations for the couple soon.
