Fans are furious as the batsman fails in the last innings of BGT 2024-25

Virat Kohli's poor form continued in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as the persistent Indian was dismissed for another low score in the second innings. It ended his disappointing streak with the bat in which he struggled badly.

It was a typical dismissal for Kohli as he edged Scott Boland's good length ball to Steve Smith at second slip. Kohli was visibly frustrated and even shouted at himself before trudging back to the pavilion.

After his dismissal, social media was flooded with messages calling for his retirement. Users were clearly furious with the former Indian captain for coming out in the same way again and again.

Virat Kohli's poor BGT 2024-25

It was another disappointment for Virat Kohli and his fans and ended a hugely disappointing run for him. Over the years, he has been a talismanic player for India, but his comebacks in recent games have made him a darling of the side.

In the current series, Kohli has scored 190 runs in five Tests at an average of 23.75. He scored a hundred in the first Test at Perth but has not been able to get a big innings since then.

The pressure will be high on the veteran batsman now and calls are being made for his retirement as well. Virat Kohli's poor returns proved detrimental as India suffered constant middle-order collapses.
