Ruben Amorim has insisted that Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United is completely in his hands.
Rashford was left out of four consecutive matchday squads last month – a spell which also saw him admit his desire for a “new challenge” – before coming off the bench unused last time out against Newcastle United.
He is is expected to miss Sunday's meeting with Liverpool due to illnessbut Amorim insisted The door remains open for Rashford to force his way back into contention when he heals.
“I've already talked a lot about Marcus, it's more up to him than me,” Amorim said Sky Sports News. He is here, he is in our team, so he is our player and he is ready to play if I decide.
“If he's there, he's ready to play.”
Rashford is reported to have declined the opportunity to earn a £35million-a-year salary in Saudi Arabia after deciding to just leave united for a club that could boost his chances of getting back into the England squad.
Behind the scenes, Rashford is not believed to be agitating for a move away from United and has even responded positively to Amorim's public challenges as he looks to fight his way back into the starting line-up.
