Cody Rhodes shares an emotional moment with a young fan after retaining his WWE title against the 40-year-old star.


Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes successfully defended his title at a live event in Florida. Rhodes also had a heartwarming moment with a young fan in attendance after the match. That moment was later spread on social networks.

Locked horns with The American Nightmare Kevin Owens Sunday in Miami in a Steel Cage match for the Undisputed WWE Championship. It was part of the company's annual Holiday Tour, and Florida was one of the destinations this year. WWE stars performed in Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami from December 26 to 29.

After his KO victory over the 40-year-old, Rhodes saw a fan at ringside with a sign that read, “I beat cancer to be here.” The current champion invited the brave boy to the ring to celebrate their victory together. Cody even gifted a young fan his own American Nightmare weight belt.

Rhodes then held the boy in his arms and waved him to the crowd, creating an incredible memory for the cancer survivor. WWE shared this moment on its official page Instagram account.

Cody Rhodes will battle Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble

WWE will begin the road to WrestleMania 41 at the Royal Rumble on February 1st. PLE will mark the official start of WrestleMania season and Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens in Indianapolis.

Last week on Smackdown, KO got under the champion's skin, deciding he would face his opponent in a Ladder Match to unify the Undisputed WWE Title and his version of the Winged Eagle at the upcoming Royal Rumble. That's what Rhodes wanted, so SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made it official.

After the confirmation, Owens pushed Aldis into Rhodes, who was still reeling from the effects of the Package Piledriver from Saturday Night's Main Event. The prizefighter wasn't done as he kicked The American Nightmare in the back of the head several times.

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will defend the WWE Championship for the third time in a singles Ladder Match. Rock On the February 15, 1999 episode of RAW, he defeated then-champion Mankind. The Undertaker defeated Jeff Hardy in a memorable Ladder Match to retain the title on the July 2002 Monday Night Show.
