Keane's venture into coaching follows a hugely successful career in England. Signed by Wolves as a 16-year-old, he scored twice on his first-team debut and was soon a regular starter for the Republic of Ireland.

The increased competition for places did not faze Keane, who went on to play a major role in Tottenham's development into top four contenders alongside Dimitar Berbatov. His regular scoring eventually earned him a move to the Liverpool in 2008, but he ended up joining Tottenham initially on loan in January before securing a permanent return.
With his Premier League Career approaching as he passed his 30s, Keane found a new MLS contract with LA Galaxy. Signed as a designated player alongside David Beckham and Landon Donovan, Keane found his goalscoring touch once more and enjoyed five hugely successful years in Los Angeles, scoring 83 times in the league and a further 21 times in the competition of cups.
He retired in 2018 after a brief spell in India, two years after ending a brilliant international career with the Republic of Ireland that saw him score 68 goals in 146 appearances.
