Kobbie Mainoo is not worried about his Manchester United future, Sky Sports News understands, amid reports the club may have to cash in on academy players to comply with financial rules.

The 19-year-old felt valued by United, who have made it clear they are not actively looking to sell the midfielder or Alejandro Garnach, despite having to be realistic about their PSR and FFP situation.

United are preparing a new contract for Mainoo, former manager Erik ten Haag said Sky Sports News in September, talks will be held with the club's top team about rewarding the English representative.

His current contract runs until 2027 with an option for an additional year, which includes built-in performance-related pay increases.

Manuel Ugarte's summer signing was centered around finding a good foil for Mainoo, and the pair have shown flashes of a promising partnership.

Garnacho, meanwhile, signed a contract until 2028.

United must sell to buy to equip Ruben Amorim with a squad capable of implementing his philosophy effectively, with the focus on replacing players who do not have a long-term future at Old Trafford.
