Crystal palace manager Oliver Glasner has urged Chelsea not to recall injured Trevoh Chalobah after the Blues' 1-1 Premier League draw at Selhurst Park.
Enzo Maresca's side, who loaned Chaloban to the Eagles last August, are currently in the midst of an injury crisis. Wesley Fofana could miss the rest of the ongoing season and Benoit Badiashile is also nursing a hamstring injury.
Due to their current situation, Maresca was forced to start centre-back Josh Acheampong against Crystal Palace earlier this Saturday.
“Even if we don't decide to buy a player or sell a player, we already know Josh is good enough. But with injuries to Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana, we'll see if something can happen.”
Glasner shared his two cents on the chance after the Premier League campaign ended at Selhurst Park. Chelsea this month Chalobah remembers. He said (h/t Football Transfers):
“I saw Axel Disasi and Tosin Adarabioyo on the bench. I don't know if you play with two, do you need another one. I just read that Aaron Anselmino is back, so they have five. I don't know what they have planned, Trevoh is our is very good for
So far this campaign, Chalobah has started all 14 of his appearances in all competitions for Glasner's outfit. He performed on the 12th Premier League they found the back of the goal three times in the matches and received a yellow card.
Enzo Maresca expressed his opinion about the bad form of “Chelsea”.
Following Chelsea's 1-1 league draw at Selhurst Park, Enzo Maresca was asked to comment on his side's poor form. He replied (h/t football.london):
“Two or three weeks ago we were talking about the title race. I never thought about (the title race). We knew Newcastle (United), Aston Villa and Manchester City would be there, so for me it's about the championship. not. The schedule is about how we can make things better.”
Maresca, who left Leicester City to join the Blues in 2024, continued:
“Today's performance was very good on and off the ball. I knew at this point in the season, every season, some teams won't win some games. That's because, I think, every game. Sometimes for one reason, sometimes for another reason.”
Chelsea, fourth with 36 points from 20 league outings, enjoyed 62% possession and 15 shots against Crystal Palace.
“Blues” will go to the next game Morecambe In the FA Cup on January 11.
