Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper batsman Narayan Jagadeesan smashed six fours in an over to create history in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He achieved this monumental feat during Tamil Nadu's preliminary quarter-final match against Rajasthan at the Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara.
Jagadeesan looked in excellent form with the bat when he came in to open the innings alongside Tushar Raheja. The first over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed had 10 runs as Raheja started the carnage. But the real damage was about to happen in the second over.
The first ball bowled by Aman Shekhawat was a whimsical delivery that lasted five wides. The bowler then bowled a short length ball first outside off and Jagadeesan cut hard over slip for a four. The second ball was well guided past point for another four.
In the next ball, Narayan Jagadeesan smashed another short one-length delivery for a four over slip as the third-man bowler miscued a bit. The next ball was played in the air but Narayan Jagadeesan managed to field the ball for another boundary.
Shekhawat changed his lines and bowled the next ball on the body, but that didn't change the result as Jagadeesan smashed him through midwicket for another four. The wicketkeeper-opener put the last ball through fine leg for another four to end a historic over.

History in Indian domestic cricket
After a five-ball wide first-up, Narayan Jagadeesan smashed six fours in a row to create a watershed moment in Indian domestic cricket. It is the most no. of runs ever scored in an over in List A cricket without hitting a six.
It was a forgettable finish for Aman Shekhawat as he just couldn't find his line and rhythm. As expected, he was not brought back under the spell. The over lasted 29 runs. Tamil Nadu reached 39-0 in two overs.
Narayan Jagadeesan scored 65 off 52 balls with 10 fours. Six of those four came in a single over. Aman Shekhawat's unusual act didn't bother Jagadeesan as he was all over him in this end.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu won the toss earlier and elected to field first. Opener Abhijeet Tomar smashed a brilliant hundred against a powerful bowling attack. Skipper Mahipal Lomror batted well and hit a belligerent 49-ball-60 which included 3 fours and 4 sixes.
Wicketkeeper Kartik Sharma provided the impetus late in the innings as Rajasthan scored 267 and were bowled out in 47.3 overs. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy took a magnificent five-wicket haul for Tamil Nadu (5-52 in 9 overs).
In return, the match has reached an interesting position where anything can happen. The Rajasthan bowlers have come back strongly after a horror start. They restricted a strong Tamil Nadu batting order and made them work hard.
