Crystal Palace are likely to be without a number of players for their FA Cup third round tie this week after a major outbreak of illness in the squad.
Manager Oliver Glessner admitted that the club had kept several players out of training and did not know who would play on Sunday.
“This weekend we had a lot of players that were either sick or questionable,” Glessner said in a press conference.
“Today (until Friday) Jean-Philippe Mateta; Maxence Lacroix and Tyrick Mitchell have yet to practice. Caleb Kporha trained for the first time today, but Dean Henderson was ill and went home today.
“Maybe one or two will come back tomorrow, but if you've been in bed for almost a week with a fever, you can't get everything to begin with, so there's still a lot of questioning.”
“But all the healthy players, despite the small numbers, have had the best training week for months now, so it's been quite easy for us.
“I'm really pleased with how the training pitches went, which gives me a good feeling for the next three weeks.”
Palace club news
Palace midfielder Will Hughes remains a doubt with a foot injury as he recovers from surgery to repair Adam Wharton's hip and groin problem.
“Adam is improving but he's still a long way from training with the team, but he's getting better,” Glessner said.
“I can't say whether it will be two weeks or three weeks or four weeks, but it's impossible for him to come back in January.”
Palace transfer news
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has said that the club is working to sign two players during the January transfer window.
The palace is reportedly on the market.
“I will tell you once the player is signed. We're working on two transfers, but I don't know how quickly we'll get them done,” Glasner said.
“It's more expensive if we talk about it!”
Glasner also revealed that despite Chelsea's interest in former centre-back Mark Guhi, the Palace player has not told him he wants to leave the club.
“If we can stay together with the squad – it's quite positive because we've been really pleased with how the players have progressed over the last few months where they haven't had an easy start.
“No one has said he wants to leave. This is the most important part. The players want to stay here.
