Abdukodir Khusanov: Lens accept Manchester City's £33.5m bid for defender after Omar Marmoush deal in principle | Football News

Lens accepted Manchester City's offer for Abdukodir Khusanov.

An agreement was reached between the clubs for 33.5 million pounds (40 million euros) plus bonuses.

Uzbekistani international centre-back Khusanov, 20, is set to sign a four-and-a-half-year deal that also includes an option for another year until June 2030.

The news comes after Omar Marmoush agreed in principle to join City from Eintracht Frankfurt, pending an agreement between the clubs.

The German club are demanding around £67m (€80m) for the 25-year-old Egypt international and negotiations are expected to start soon.

An opening bid could come as early as this weekend. Marmoush wants this move because he knows he is currently City boss Pep Guardiola's first target.

There is no release clause for the striker and the Bundesliga club, who are third in the German top flight, are expected to reject offers well below the aforementioned figure.

City and Marmoush's camp believe that the transfer price of 42 million pounds to 50 million pounds (50 to 60 million euros) is more realistic.

Marmoush, who can operate in any position in the front three, has scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga so far this season, with only Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane scoring more.

Marmoush statistics

He has scored 18 goals in all competitions this campaign and is second only to his international team-mate, the Liverpool striker. Mohamed Salah for goals in the top five European leagues this season.

South American football expert Tim Vickery says Reis is 'not nearly ready for the Premier League'

South American football expert Tim Vickery speaking to Sky Sports News Transfer Talk about Vitor Reis:

“Palmeiras are in the Club World Cup and they are very keen to keep this centre-back, who turns 19 next week.

“I don't think he's even close to being ready for the Premier League at the moment. He's classy, but he needs to fill out physically.

“Palmeiras have given a lot of good players recently – mostly strikers.

“If you put him in the Premier League right now, he would be really bullied. So maybe it's in everyone's best interest to stay a little longer in Brazilian football.

“But Palmeiras are reluctant to sell before that Club World Cup.”
