James Justin scored his second brace of the season to help Leicester progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 6-2 defeat of QPR.
Ruud van Nistelrooy's side produced a professional performance after the break to give the Dutchman his second win in charge, which could also inject some momentum into the Foxes' Premier League survival.
Justin put Leicester ahead in foggy conditions at the King Power Stadium before QPR leveled with Jonathan Varane's firecracker, but the hosts put space between themselves and the Championship visitors with goals from Stephy Mavididi and Facundo Buonanotte.
On the stroke of half-time, Harry Winks lazily set up Ryan Collie to cut the deficit to 3-2, but that didn't slow Leicester down as they showed their supreme quality in the second 45.
Justin's second penalty, Jamie Vardy's penalty on his 38th birthday and Wout Faes's beauty – a 30-yard strike into the top corner after a great run forward – ended a run of five successive defeats.
More to come.
