Ireland Women's National Cricket Team spinner Aimee Maguire has come under massive scrutiny for her bowling action during the ongoing series against the Indian Women's National Cricket Team. Currently, the two teams lock horns with each other in the three-match ODI series.
Aimee Maguire underwent the scanner after bowling in the first game of the series against the Indian women's national cricket team in Rajkot. The player was decent with the ball as he bowled eight overs in the game and returned with figures of 3/57.
ICC sends formal letter to Cricket Ireland for illegal bowling action by spinner Aimee Maguire
Following the match, the officials handed the report to the management of the Ireland women's national cricket team. Afterwards, the International Cricket Council (ICC) sent an official letter to Cricket Ireland, confirming that the illegal bowling action had been reported after the match.
Aimee Maguire will now have to report to the ICC Accredited Test Center for testing within the next 14 days. The testing will determine whether the spinner's bowling action violates ICC regulations. But as per the rules, he will be allowed to bowl until the test results are available.

Cricket Ireland's director of high performance Graeme West has voiced his support for Aimee Maguire. Releasing the official statement, he said that all the players and staff have extended their support to Spinner, encouraging her to continue to shine on the international stage.
“The staff and players are rallying around Aimee, ensuring she will return with stronger action and continue to shine on the international stage for many years to come,” Graeme West said in a statement.
Graeme West also stated that their high-performance coaching and support service will assist Aimee in her remedial program, revealing that it will begin after the series against India. He elaborated:
“The experience and expertise we have within our high performance coaching and support services at Cricket Ireland will provide Aimee with the care, support and guidance to deliver the remedial program that will begin following the team's return from India.”
Aimee Maguire played 11 ODIs and nine T20s for Ireland
Aimee Maguire, 18, made her debut in 2023. So far, she has played 11 ODIs and nine T20s, taking a total of 25 wickets with a best of 5 for 19 against England in an ODI last year. She would be keen to correct her act and come back even stronger in international cricket.
Maguire did not find a place in Ireland's playing XI for the ongoing second ODI against India. She was replaced by Ava Canning in the XI. Along with her, the visitors also made one change, adding Alana Dalzell to the XI.
