Pakistan left-handed batsman Mohammad Nawaz and Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib were involved in a heated exchange during the Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 (BPL 2024-25) match between Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Strikers on Sunday, January 12.
Khulna Tigers batsman Mohammad Nawaz overcame his emotions while Sylhet Strikers pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib lost his cool before having an intense war of words during the 17th match of Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 (BPL 2024-25) in Sylhet.

The incident unfolded in the very first ball of the 17th over of Khulna Tigers' chase against Sylhet Strikers in the BPL 2024-25 encounter at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. Tanzim bowled a slow delivery and it worked as Nawaz was caught by Zakir Hasan at fine leg.

As the Pakistani batsman departed for 33 runs off 18 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, Tanzim said something to Nawaz as he approached him. And then the real drama began as Mohammad Nawaz shouldered Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who was enraged by the Pakistani batsman's act.
Both players turned to each other after crossing paths and had a verbal altercation after Nawaz angrily marched towards the Bangladeshi pacer. However, the pitch intervened and separated the two players.
However, Nawaz and Tanzim were not ready to end the verbal exchange but the Sylhet Strikers players made sure there was no more drama between the players by taking him to the dugout.

The incident was just a reminder of the Virat Kohli-Sam Konstas incident during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between India and Australia. However, Konstas revealed that Kohli unintentionally hit him on the shoulder after the entire episode during the fourth Test at the MCG.
Sylhet Strikers beat Khulna Tigers by 8 wickets in BPL 2024-25 clash
Talking about the BPL 2024-25 match, Sylhet Strikers posted 182/5 on the board in their 20 overs thanks to amazing innings from Rony Talukdar and Zakir Hasan against Khulna Tigers. While Talukdar made 56 runs off 44 balls, Zakir hit a stunning knock of 75 runs off just 46 balls in Sylhet.

Abu Hider and Ziaur Rahman scalped two wickets each for the Tigers. Chasing the target, Khulna Tigers got off to a great start but wickets were falling from the other end. William Bosisto (43) and Mohammad Nawaz (33) were the top scorers for the Tigers against the Strikers.
Mahidul Islam Ankon also played a useful knock of 28 runs but most of the players failed to face even the 15 balls and finally Khulna Tigers suffered the heavy eight wicket defeat against Sylhet Strikers in BPL 2024 match -25 from Sylhet. Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Reece Topley and Ruyel Miah took two wickets each while Nahidul Islam took one wicket to help Sylhet Strikers' massive win over Khulna Tigers. Notably, Sylhet Strikers will next face Chittagong Kings in the 19thth Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on January 13.
