Zimbabwean all-rounder and T20I captain Sikandar Raza has raised many eyebrows with his shocking comments about the Indian Premier League (IPL). After being rejected by all the teams in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction, Raza seems to have lost interest in the tournament.
After going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Sikandar Raza's tone changed dramatically as the Zimbabwean all-rounder openly admitted that he enjoys the Pakistan Super League (PSL) more. He Raza said that Pakistan Super League (PSL) is more fun and entertaining compared to Indian Premier League (IPL), which raised many eyebrows.

Asked which league, the IPL or the PSL, he enjoyed the most, Raza was quick to pick the T20 franchise tournament in his home country, Pakistan. Sikandar Raza was quoted by Sports Tak as saying, “I like PSL more. I find the PSL much more enjoyable. As for pleasure.”

Meanwhile, Raza, who is all set to represent Lahore Qalandars in the upcoming PSL 2025, has denied any disappointment over his rejection of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The Zimbabwean captain said he is not disappointed to have missed out on this year's Premier Indian League; rather, he is more focused on working hard and trying his luck again next time.

Raza explained, “Not at all. I have very strong beliefs and faith. What's meant to be, meant to be. If you do your best, cricket-wise, whether it's on the international stage or the franchise stage, whatever tournament you're in, there's no selection. I return; i work hard I put my name in the next draft and see what happens. I'm not easily disappointed.”

Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza captains Dubai Capitals in the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 and will look to lead from the front with both bat and ball. Dubai Capitals will face MI Emirates on January 13 in the second game of ILT20 2025 which is being played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
