Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted he “doesn't know” whether Marcus Rashford will play for the club again.
Rashford has now not played for United for over a month after failing once again to make the matchday squad for Sunday's FA Cup win over Arsenaldespite Amorim confirming he has overcome the illness that kept him out of the previous match against Liverpool.
Amorim has emphasized that the door has not been closed to Rashford, but after the victory over Arsenal, he confessed that he had no idea if the 27-year-old still has a future at Old Trafford.
“I don't know,” Amorimi said. “We will see. He is a player for Manchester United. We will see. He has to work.
“He has to represent his club and he loves his club, but I have to make choices. I have already spoken about how I make choices. That is what it is. Let's go on, let's see the game of next and as I said, I have to make a selection”.
Rashford is believed to be available for a move this month, but the sheer cost of such a deal has left his many suitors chasing a loan move. United are thought to be open to a temporary change.
There is interest from the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United named as suitors, but the biggest interest comes from continental Europe. AC Milan are among the leading candidates and club official Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former team-mate of Rashford's at United, has publicly discussed his side's interest in a deal.
Rashford, however, is thought to favor a move to Barcelonawho were recently advised to follow an agreement after they have released the required salary.
