Liverpool have confirmed that last month's canceled Merseyside derby has been rescheduled for Wednesday 12 February.
The Reds were scheduled to make the short trip to Everton at the start of December, only to match that will be postponed after severe weather warnings were issued with Merseyside Police advising against unnecessary travel.
Both sides have been operating with games in hand against their opponents, but things will be settled next month when Liverpool again make the journey a stone's throw away to Goodison Park.
It will surely be the last Merseyside derby at Goodison, with Everton decided to move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock at the end of the season. The only exception to this would be for both sides to win their respective FA Cup fourth round ties and draw together later on.
Crucially, this fixture date remains subject to Liverpool's performance in the Champions League as it falls on the same date as the knockout round of the play-offs. The Reds are currently top of the table and need just one point from their remaining two games to guarantee automatic qualification to the last 16, which will almost certainly come anyway given their commanding position in order.
Liverpool are also top of the Premier League, opening up a commanding lead over Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Chelsea, despite having played a game less than those around them.
Meanwhile Everton has Just welcomed David Moyes into the dugout as they seek to leave the drop zone. The Toffees are currently a point away at the announcement time.
