Mohammad Amir dismisses Rohit Sharma & Co. a major warning, Pakistan is advocating a repeat of the Dubai nightmare

Well, the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 might begin with the Pakistan vs New Zealand clash in Karachi on February 19, but all eyes will be on the clash of titans between the two old enemies, India and Pakistan. This mother of the clash will be held on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE.

However, the Men in Blue have a superior record against the Men in Green in ICC events but many have downgraded the Men in Blue given their recent dip in form and Mohammad Amir was among them. The Pakistani cricketer has made a bold remark regarding the clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai.

Mohammad Amir pointed out that the Pakistan cricket team is currently brimming with confidence after beating Australia and South Africa in their own backyard recently in the series. Besides, the Men in Green are the defending champions and being the hosts, Pakistan's morale is boosted.

Highlighting Pakistan's form and strength in overseas conditions, Amir boldly suggested that the Men in Green could have the upper hand against India when the two arch-rivals meet in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash next month in Dubai.

The left-arm pacer admitted that India have always been favorites in major tournaments against Pakistan but this time, the Indian cricket team is currently under pressure as they are facing heavy criticism due to recent defeats against Australia and New Zealand. Amir feels Pakistan may have another setback in Dubai against India but this time in ODIs.

Notably, Pakistan crushed India by 10 wickets in a T20 World Cup 2021 group match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It was Pakistan's first World Cup win against India. India and Pakistan are yet to announce the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squads.

Mohammad Amir was quoted by the Times of India as saying: “The way Pakistan have played recently – beating Australia in Australia and then beating South Africa – shows their strength, especially in overseas conditions. Considering their recent performances, I think Pakistan will have the upper hand against India. However, India has always been my favorite in big tournaments. But the Indian team is under pressure and facing severe criticism due to recent defeats.”
