Everton Newcastle United are keen to sign an 'iconic' Newcastle United player, who recently expressed his desire to be 'recognised and appreciated', according to a new report.

David Moyes will begin his second stint as Everton manager on Wednesday evening when the Toffees host Aston Villa at Goodison Park in the Premier League. Moyes, who previously coached Everton between 2002 and 2013 before joining Manchester United, was appointed as the club's new manager last week after the dismissal of Sean Dyche.

Longstaff has been in and out of Eddie Howe's side this season, starting eight of their 20 Premier League matches so far. Howe has previously praised it as “iconic”. In a “really brilliant way of linking play”, the 27-year-old is contracted at St James' Park until 2026.
In an interview with The i in November, he hinted that he was frustrated with the perception of his role on Howe's team, saying he He wants to be “appreciated and appreciated.”
