It's a big draw in the Premier League.
Pereira has his work cut out for him to guide Wolves to safety as the club have lost 11 of their 16 league games so far, with each of their last four defeats.
The former Porto boss admitted that the chance to manage in the Premier League was a big draw.
On why he was attracted to the Molineux job, he said: “It's the Premier League and in my opinion the Premier League is the best league in the world. It's been a target of mine for a long time.
“It means I'm in the right place with top, high-level players, the league and the manager. I'm very happy to be here.”
Wolves plan for January
Pareira said Wolves had not ruled out playing in the January transfer window but needed time to first assess the squad.
He said: “I think the club is open to doing this, but at this point it's important to come up with new ideas and understand the answer from the players on the pitch.
“What can we do with our players? At least one week is important to learn about personality and what we need. We will decide after that.”
Nelson captain
After Pareira sacked captain Mario Lemina, O'Neill handed the armband to right-back, asking Nelson Semedo if he would continue as Wolves captain.
He said: “Nelson is a very good boy. A great character and now trying to understand the leadership position on the field.
“It's important on the field. I am currently studying. This is not the time to decide. It's time to study. to obtain information; After we decide on the captain, we will have to decide on you.”
