Chelsea has made one move to bring Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel to Stamford Bridge, while disgruntled Blues striker Christopher Nkunku could be on his way to Bavaria, according to various reports.
Tel has developed a reputation as one of Europe's most exciting young strikers, despite being given precious few minutes by Bayern. The teenager managed to score double-digit goals in all competitions last season while making just ten starts.
Christopher Nkunku has operated in the shadows for Chelsea this season. Eight years older than his compatriot, the former Bundesliga goalscorer's involvement has been largely limited to cup competitions this season, leading to many rumors about a departure.
Barcelona has been rejected as a possible destination, but Bayern Munich are thought to be interested in the former RB Leipzig forward. Fabrizio Romano.
Athletics have supported that information and added that Chelsea have requested a move for Tel. These potential deals are not framed as an exchange, either The Times are at pains to point out and have the opportunity to succeed or fail on their own merits regardless of the other.
Chelsea have yet to make Nkunku available for a transfer, with Maresca insisting publicly: “We want to keep him here because we're happy with him.”
A similar position has been taken by the sporting director of Bayern Munich, Christoph Freund, with Tel. “Mathys Tel is a very important player for us,” said Freund Sky Sports Germany this week.
“We are in very good contact because he is a great talent and should play an important role for us. We have had many discussions. Our clear aim is for Mathys to make his progress with us. We are very satisfied with our team, quality and quantity.
“Of course if a player is unhappy, we can talk about that. Our clear plan with Mathys is for him to make his progress here.”
