Tottenham Hotspur They may not have had the best luck on the pitch over the past 10-15 years, but they have been blessed with some talented footballers.
The likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min formed one of the best attacking partnerships ever Premier League Like never before, if we go back to the early 2010s, Luka Modric was making a name for himself at the heart of the Lilywhites' midfield.
However, when it comes to explosive entertainment value, there has perhaps been no bigger Spurs star in recent history than Gareth Bale, with the Wales international taking English football by storm before securing a world-record move to the biggest club in the game, Real Madrid.
While the income has undoubtedly been a boon for the north Londoners, we have no doubt that fans would have preferred to keep the world-class winger, the bad news is that they could be on the verge of losing another future star to Los Blancos in the move. It may be an uncomfortably reminiscent of Bale's passing.
Tottenham is in danger of losing its young star
according to A recent report from SpainReal Madrid is now interested in young talents in Tottenham, Archie Gray.
The report has revealed that Los Blancos are looking for young players with “huge potential” and have now set their sights on the talented English footballer, which is news no Tottenham fan will want to hear.
According to the story, the Spanish giants are willing to offer around €50m for the 18-year-old, which equates to around £42m, or just £12m more than the 18-year-old paid. The Lilywhites paid for it in the summer.
Daniel Levy They may be tempted by the prospect of making an immediate profit from Gray, but given his performances this season and the huge potential many believe he possesses, selling him this month would be ridiculous, especially since they wasted the money they received from the last star they sold to Real.
Why would selling Gray be a repeat of Bell?
Well, before we get into some of the reasons why Real Madrid might want to sign Gray this month, and why Spurs definitely shouldn't sell him, let's examine why a potential sale might remind us of Bale's departure more than a decade ago.
The first reason is that it would be another example of the Lilywhites selling an exciting British talent to the Spanish giants for a huge fee and a profit on what they originally paid for the players themselves.
The second similarity is that, like the Welshman, the former Leeds player has already proven himself to be a versatile footballer who can play in different positions, from midfield to full-back and even centre-back.

Finally, if Levy and Co. sell the 18-year-old dynamo this month, then, as is the case with the former Southampton star, they would almost certainly be selling an exceptional prospect before he reaches his prime years.
That last point ties into why the 15-time Champions League winners want him to start, because despite his young age, the Durham-born prodigy looked right at home in the toughest league in world football.
In fact, although he has played mainly in defense this season, he is so highly regarded by those who know him that the respected analyst Ben Mattinson described him as a Last year's '£100m future' midfielder, which, given how well he has adapted to life in the Premier League this season, despite the turbulent nature of Spurs' campaign, does not seem unreal.
It's not just Mattinson who has high expectations for the young phenom either, as a talent scout Jacek Kulig claimed to have “Quality beyond his years” and that he was the “top talent” in February.
Ultimately, while making a quick buck on a young player signed in the last window may be tempting for some in charge at Spurs, they simply cannot afford to sell Gray this month.
If they do, it will just be a repeat of Bale's departure, and fans will have to watch him go on and win everything there is to win with the Spanish giants.
